Following a competitive procurement exercise, Education Scotland have selected RM Education Ltd to continue to deliver Glow Authentication and Portal Services.

The Glow platform supports the Scottish Government’s Digital, Learning and Teaching strategy by helping to deliver "education enhanced by digital technology".

The Platform currently has approximately 140,000 unique users and 2,000,000 logins per month.

RM have been delivering Glow services via their RM Unify product since December 2013.

The new contract starts in January 2018, initially for 5.5 years, and may be extended up to a maximum of 10.5 years. The contract will earn RM £1.3 million per annum, with the costs being met by Education Scotland and the Scottish Government.

The authentication and portal services make up only a part of the Glow system, with a contract out to tender for the hosting and support of Glow Meet whilst Google will be providing Online Productivity tools for the platform.
