NHS Education for Scotland (NES) in partnership with E-Learning healthcare specialists Aurion Learning, have extended the capacity of the Post Registration Career Development Framework website by developing a new support and supervision section.
The new section will help integrate support and supervision into the everyday practice of Nurses, Midwives and Allied Healthcare Professionals (NMAHPs) throughout Scotland.
The Post Registration Career Development Framework website is designed to provide a platform to support the continuing professional development of NMAHPs throughout Scotland.
The support and supervision section on the website contains a comprehensive competency-based toolbox of tips, guidelines and personal stories including:
· how to provide effective support and supervision to colleagues,
· how to make the best use of support and supervision when offered, and
· how to introduce and maintain support and supervision structures throughout the organisation.
The updated area also contains resources and links to help develop the knowledge and skills of those receiving and providing support and supervision to others.

NMAHPs can now benefit from content that is simple to access, download and apply in practice with supporting tools, programmes and resources to help them get the support and supervision they need for their long term personal and professional development.” Said Barry Kelly, Product Development Manager at Aurion Learning.
The new section on the Post Registration Career Development Framework website is the latest in a series of bespoke learning resources that Aurion Learning has developed in collaboration with the team at NES.

Aurion Learning will deliver a two day training workshop on Articulate Storyline in partnership with the Scottish E-learning Alliance in Edinburgh next month.
Designed specifically for in-house trainers, subject matter experts and those who want to design and build their own E-Learning, the workshop will provide participants with everything they need to help you create engaging rapid E-Learning using Articulate Storyline.
Held on Wednesday 11 and Thursday 12 June, participants will be guided through:
- key features of Storyline,
- Storyline workflow,
- development of a rapid E-Learning course including demonstrations, interactive simulations, video and narration and
- learn how to easily integrate content with E-Learning applications and publish to SCORM for your LMS to deliver HTML5 and Flash files.

Digital learning healthcare specialists, Aurion Learning, has announced they will participate at the NHS E-Learning Special Interest Group (SIG) Meeting in Edinburgh later this month.

eLearning provider Learning Nexus has partnered with awarding organisation AIM Awards to start providing eLearning courses to complement their qualification offering.
Learning Nexus are pleased to be forming a strategic partnership with Derby based, AIM Awards who are approved in the UK by Ofqual and who currently offer over 400 qualifications across the country.
Chief Executive of AIM Awards Linda Wyatt said; “I am delighted to be able to launch our partnership with Learning Nexus. This is the first time Learning Nexus will have qualifications attached to eLearning courses with the first two Health and Safety related titles, Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering and Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace, set for release for the start of the 2nd quarter. The partnership will allow Learning Nexus to compete in the qualifications market.

Edinburgh-based eLearning Alliance member Multiply has created a suite of 16 regulatory style eLearning modules for a major UK insurance company. Faced with the challenge of how to motivate learners working through hours of dry ‘compulsory’ training, the Multiply team delivered a vibrant design that employs an innovative scrolling interface.
The world of financial services is well used to the demands of regulatory learning. Staff are expected to work through regular doses of detailed subject matter – usually repeated at least every year – with a formal assessment at the end. In many organisations, these modules have developed a bad reputation from users due to their repetitive nature and dull format.
To counter these negative perceptions, and to make sure learners were put in control of their learning, Multiply proposed an inventive new design to a major UK insurer when asked to pitch for a 16-module development project.
The solution employed an easy-to-use scrollable interface and a vibrant infographic-style design that presented key information in a highly visual and engaging manner.
Each module also included a randomised assessment complete with Management Information to satisfy detailed business requirements.
In all, more than 10 hours of learning was developed and the modules were received enthusiastically by client and learners alike.
