eLearningScotland is an eLearning resource company, producing and distributing a range of resources, events and websites.  Under GDPR, we act as a ‘Data Controller’ for the data we hold.

We process data using legitimate interest. Our ability to retain the personal data will be determined by activity, if the you do not use our services for over 2 years we will delete your data.

The information held by eLearningScotland is related to the management of the company which includes planning, marketing & providing events, providing news & information and providing services to the eLearning industry.

In the course of our business of providing events, news and services we collect personally identifying information consisting of: name, email address, postal address, organisation and job title, as well as social media contact details (which may include username details for twitter, Mastadon, LinkedIn, Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, etc.).  We also collect and store personal data as part of our legal obligation for business accounting and tax purposes.

eLA Bulletin Mailing List
Our eLA Bulletin mailing list is run using services provided by Mailchimp, which acts as a data processor under GDPR. You can review the MailChimp privacy policy here.

The personal data we collect for the management of this mailing list is name and email address.  Information you submit to this mailing list will be stored outside the European Economic Area on MailChimp’s servers in the United States of America.

In addition, your personal information may be linked to event activity you take part in with the eLearningScotland including attended workshops, use of newsletter, webinars and networking events and completing surveys.

We will not share your data with a 3rd party without first obtaining your consent to do so.

Data Retention
If you do not use our services for 2 years, your personal information will be removed from our marketing and contact database files.  For tax purposes, we must retain data for six years from the end of the relevant tax year.
